Job Title: Temp / Temp-to-Perm Litigation Associate Attorney

Our client, a well-established Staten Island law firm, is seeking a sharp and motivated Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis. For the right candidate, the firm is open to considering a direct-hire arrangement. This position offers hands-on experience across a diverse range of civil litigation matters and the chance to work closely with a highly regarded litigation partner with a proven record in trial and appellate courts.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with civil litigation matters, including corporate, contract, real estate, domestic relations, estate, and personal injury cases
Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal correspondence
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda to support litigation strategy
Assist with trial preparation, appellate briefs, and exhibit management
File documents in both state and federal courts and handle related case logistics
Collaborate with the supervising attorney on case strategy and client communications
Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school
Admission to the New York State Bar
Prior experience in civil litigation, including drafting legal documents and conducting research
Strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills
Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and manage multiple priorities
Familiarity with both state and federal court processes is preferred
