Security and Counterintelligence organization is responsible for the protection of the National Security Agency's information, people, and facilities worldwide. In support of this mission, Security Technologists oversee the development, installation and maintenance of physical security systems. These systems and installations must meet stringent national security directives, UL standards and various national and local codes. These systems are an integral element of an overall security theory, posture and infrastructure designed to efficiently deter, delay, detect and identify threats to NSA's employees, resources and facilities. The Security Technologist work role supports the Physical Security division. Desirable candidates for this particular position must meet the qualifications for the Technical Program Management function. The Technical Program Management function is responsible for maintaining the technical health and oversight of the physical security systems. Specific responsibilities include: - Install, configure, and maintain switches and firewalls from major manufacturers (Cisco, Sonic Wall, Dell, etc.) - Install, configure, and maintain Windows server operating systems in various configurations including domain controllers, file servers, and web application servers - Design, install, and maintain virtualized systems - Develop budgetary estimates for future installations of security systems and develop specific estimates for IT projects - Provide remote customer support to resolve specific physical security issues
Job Summary

Security Technologists evaluate and test new security technologies to protect against various terrorist threats and advise users on technical security issues and conduct training on new technology.
Qualifications
The qualifications listed are the minimum acceptable to be considered for the position. Degree in a Security Technology Systems related field (e.g., Engineering and Antiterrorism Force Protection) is preferred, but a degree in any field is acceptable. Relevant experience must be in building, installing, maintaining, and/or training on technology-based security systems and equipment (e.g., alarms, access control, closed circuit TV, and cipher locks). FULL PERFORMANCE Entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 1 year of relevant experience or a Doctoral degree and no experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 7 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience may be considered. SENIOR Entry is with a Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience or a Doctoral degree plus 2 years of relevant experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 10 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 8 years of relevant experience may be considered.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
Pay: Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position. Salary Range: $82,764 - $181,216 (Full Performance to Senior) Salary range varies by location, work level, and relevant experience to the position. On-the job training, internal NSA courses, and external training will be made available based on the need and experience of the selectee. Benefits: NSA offers excellent benefits to include relocation assistance, flexible work schedules, generous leave programs, paid personal fitness time, training and continuing education classes, health and life insurance, Federal Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), and a Federal retirement plan. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, with basic 8 hour/day work requirements between 0600 and 1800 (flexible).
