Robert Half is partnering with a nonprofit organization to identify a dynamic Accounts Receivable Supervisor. The Accounts Receivable Supervisor will lead the AR team, managing invoicing, collections, reconciliations, and reporting to ensure smooth and timely operations. This role is ideal for someone with leadership experience and a passion for developing process efficiencies in a nonprofit finance environment.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Supervise the accounts receivable team, prioritizing workload and supporting team members in achieving their goals.
+ Oversee accurate preparation and distribution of customer invoices, ensuring compliance with nonprofit grant/budget and donor reporting guidelines.
+ Monitor receivables and lead collection efforts while maintaining positive relationships with donors, clients, and partners.
+ Lead reconciliation of accounts receivable sub-ledger to the general ledger.
+ Provide detailed aging reports, account analysis, and recommendations during month-end and year-end close operations.
+ Implement and maintain strong internal controls to ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting policies and regulations.
+ Collaborate with other departments, such as development or grants teams, for accurate tracking and reporting of restricted donations/revenue.
+ Identify and implement process improvements for efficient operations while scaling to meet the nonprofit's growing needs.
+ Support auditors during annual audits with documentation and inquiries related to receivables.
Requirements
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field strongly preferred; equivalent work experience acceptable.
+ 5+ years of experience in accounts receivable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
+ Prior experience working within a nonprofit organization is highly desirable.
+ Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar) and intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
+ Strong knowledge of nonprofit restrictions, donor designations, and grants accounting practices (preferred).
+ Proven communication and interpersonal skills for working with donors, vendors, and internal teams.
+ Ability to lead, motivate, and develop accounting staff while fostering collaboration and teamwork.
Preferred Skills:
+ Familiarity with fund accounting practices or nonprofit financial systems.
+ Knowledge of Uniform Guidance or compliance with grant fund utilization.
+ Experience in handling accounts receivables in a multi-entity or multi-program nonprofit structure..
